Product Development Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Define product functions and specifications through study of market needs
- Write detailed functional specifications/requirements for new product designs
- Conduct technical evaluations of products developed by vendors and competitors
- Provide high level technical support for Sales and Technical teams
- Evaluate issues discovered during new product testing
- Troubleshoot both electronic and mechanical design issues on T&M products
- Test and verify new product designs and prototypes against original functional specifications written by Extech or manufacturer, including board level troubleshooting
- Verify designs comply with UL/CSA, IEC, CE standards and requirements
- Work on product launch initiatives, assist Marketing as needed
- Assist in developing training material for the direct and indirect sales channels
- Quarterly travel to Asia will be required
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years of electro-mechanical engineering and product development experience required.
- Experience with Asian development teams preferred.
- Must be familiar with or have experience in the engineering disciplines of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software and system engineering.
- Knowledge of Lab view and/or C/C++ software preferred.
- Must be familiar with functions of Manufacturing, Product Management, Marketing, and Quality Assurance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task in a team oriented fast paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience working within Quality guidelines and an ISO9001:2000 environment
Sales and Marketing Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Manage VP’s Outlook Calendar and Contact information
- Organize internal and off-site meetings and events
- Perform administrative functions such as filing, faxing, copying, and typing
- Prepare expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card accounts
- Provide key statistical data with use of crystal reports and excel charts/graphs
- Prepare distributor and customer sales and marketing presentations including power point presentations, binders, and data sheets
- Complete internet research and data collection assignments
- Maintain database and spreadsheet files as needed
- Provide support to field Sales Managers (reports, analysis, mailings, etc.)
- Support Marketing Department with projects (mailings, customer surveys, preparation for trade shows)
- Assist Engineering and Quality departments with ad hoc projects when time allows
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in a similar Sales support role
- Experience in sales and marketing preferred
- Prior data entry, SAP, and crystal reporting experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong office management skills, 60+wpm typing speed
- Customer Service orientation with upbeat and outgoing style
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in a team oriented fast paced environment
